Hi Matt

I just wondered if you had any news on JJ that could 
explain her drop in form since the AO.

Her match against KC in Sydney was a quality affair, yet she 
seemed a fraction of herself in Melbourne, expecially against Serena

I had originally thought it may be fatigue - but that doesn't 
excuse giving up a set and a 5-2 lead in Miami

I really believe that it's mental fatigue and she hasn't yet 
developed  champion's mentality. It happens to numerous players who 
crack the top 10 and then  can't get around the fact that 
they are favored in most matchs and that they are suppossed to 
be closing out matches. 
On court, she has it all except for a serve, but her mind 
does wander. Even when she was peaking in the 2nd half of 
'06, she had trouble closing out matches. 

She believes in herself as a top-20 player and will say she 
belongs with the elite, but I dont see a lot of conviction 
in her eyes when she says it.

Didn't get to see her loss in Miami - shocked that she 
spurned a lead as big as that in the 2nd set though.

she's top 4 after Roland Garros I beleive. She is just inches 
away mentally from being a regular Slam contender on any surface. 
Saw her the first time in Philly a few years back and have 
been a huge fan of her game ever since.
