FEEDBACK: FRIDAY, AUGUST 30

More dissing of Capriati from reader

Matthew, Matthew, I usually enjoy your articles and your viewpoint but I have to take exception to "Jennifer and Lleyton go to war with words." First, I am a huge Williams fan, more Venus than Serena, so I get a little defensive when J-Cap starts making her snide, little comments. Now, I can't really defend King Richard Williams, he has said some outlandish things, but on second thought, many of them seem to be coming true!

I think he said exactly what people should say to J-Cap: Stop cursing out linespersons, stop acting childish when things aren't going your way. I'd be willing to bet that her father has told her to slow down her service game when things are getting tight for her. It's cool to take yourself to task but her cursing is out of control, and I do agree with Richard on this one … it is ignorant. I don't know, I get the feeling that if it was any other woman that was beating her consistently or dominating the game, like say Davenport, she wouldn't make so many excuses.

But hey, you have to write nicely about J-Cap, we all know how she treated Chris Evert and Bud Collins when they called her on her pettiness after she disrespected one of tennis' greatest champions and the woman who made it possible for players to cash in and get equal pay. So I'll let this lapse in reporting go this time; I'm still a fan.

P.S. Am I the only one who has feedback? C'mon people, get on them!!
