FEEDBACK: FRIDAY, MAY 10

JCap acting like spoiled kid

Give me a break!

No matter how annoying Billie Jean King is (and she is very annoying) she did the right thing. If there are rules, then everyone must abide by them. I truly do not know what the obsession with JCap is. I have been to many of her matches and to say the least she is very unpleasant on the court. She may have been the 13-year-old cute kid all those years ago, but now she is a 26-year-old spoiled brat. Success has truly gone to her head. She should be very proud of her comeback, but is there always the need to constantly let people know how great she is? Jennifer you were much more mature at 13 then you ever have been now!

FEEDBACK: MONDAY, MAY 6

Karma got back at King

I think Billie Jean got what she deserved. Karma has a way of punishing those
that need it most. Billie Jean overlooked both Venus Williams and Serena
Williams' willingness to play; she wanted a "team" experience. She went with
the press' portrayal of the Williams as ice princesses because they are more
comfortable with each other (they are sisters what do you expect??), c
hoosing
Shaugnessy and Raymond in their place. Congenial Monica Seles is always a
great choice for the "team experience." I have no clue why Jennifer Capriati
was chosen. Capriati is incredibly bitchy … she wines like crazy … and has a
temper that could launch rockets (like father like daughter). Many at home
don't see her as those of us who travel from tournament to tournament do. I
don't think Billie Jean deserves to be fired but she should soak in her
misery a little while long.

FEEDBACK: THURSDAY, MAY 2

BJK should get the door

So now Billie Jean is the sympathetic mother hen, concerned for Jennifer's psyche? Oh, please! The question shouldn't be whether Jen is there next year, but is BJ. Does the USTA have the guts to fire her? Some teams had a defacto manager besides the captain, such as the able coach Zoltan Kuharszky for Switzerland. Such a person would have probably defused things for the U.S. team. Sad to say, but the "adult" needed adult supervision. Meghann deserved the fill-in role, but it would have been coming full-circle for BJ to have played that match herself. At age 30, she beat a 55-year-old who won his only GS 4 years before she was born in a so-called Battle of the Sexes (I guess 40 y.o. Rosewall was too young for the WWF style spectacle). Would she have been willing to be the one at the age disadvantage, even against a no. 75 player? I doubt it.
