In what was yet another injury riddled day in a sport that refuses to make the necessary adjustments to keep its players healthy, the four favorites advanced to the finals in Cincinnati.

Andy Murray will face his buddy Novak Djokovic in one final, while Maria Sharapova will face her her old junior rival Jelena Jankovic in another. Playing with a sore leg, Murray took a 6-3 7-6 win over Mardy Fish, whose bad heel was effecting his movement. Djokovic reached his sixth Masters Series final of 2011 when Tomas Berdych retired with a shoulder injury after losing the first set 7-5.
